JOHNNIE WALKER BLACK LABEL

There are few brands as iconic as Johnnie Walker. Their coloured label blends are known all over the world. We wanted to create a spec commercial focussed on the limited edition Black Lable bottle. Using our expertise in product filming, especially in the spirits world we strove to craft a short and impactful film, with a high end feel. Our short film was crafted in a black box studio, using our in house RED Cinema camera, along with Canon FD lenses to create a high end, but textured feel.

UEBOOM

Ultimate Ears is a brand whose products and commercials are iconic. The poppy colours, the distinctive shape of their speakers, and the out and out fun of their video content is all instantly recognisable. With our spec commericial we wanted to capture some of this winning formula and what better way to do that than through dance.

We wanted to show off the key features of the UEBoom series: portability, durability, and excellent sound, all within a tight 30 second whirlwind of fun. We decided on a loose narrative following two dancers getting ready to meet up and dance, flying through a series of moments that would see the UEBoom speaker put through its paces.

We shot on one of our RED Cinema Camera’s with our unique vintage Canon FD lenses to achieve the look. With additional speciality rig shots on the Sony FX30 and underwater shots using the Sigma Art series lens.

TWISTED ROOTS DISTILLERY

The small-batch, hand crafted rum of the Twisted Roots Distillery is something special, not just because of how great it tastes but also because of the blood, sweat, fire, and metal that helps make it. That’s because Owner/ Creator Piers handbuilt his own still, the way he hand crafts every batch of the delicious rum. So, we wanted to make a film that told his story and honoured his craft, with visuals inspired by the Prohibition era that inspired him to start distilling.

Our main focus was to create a 60 second commercial spot that would work for both TV and online advertising. But we also created an eco-system of content around this main film, including a variety of short, social media-optimised videos and stills. By taking this approach we were able to deliver a wide range of content to the Distillery to release gradually, keeping their social media presence strong and helping to provide a return on investment.

Owner/ Creator Piers has seen excellent engagement with the film, with his website traffic increasing 3 times after the films release. This engagement has led to a massive increase in online sales since this time last year.
